BrightWorks Member Guidelines
Welcome to BrightWorks! To keep our community safe, supportive, and functioning smoothly, we ask all members and guests to be mindful of our guidelines.
General Conduct Requests
We’re delighted to have your bright mind in our community! Whether your goal is to focus more intently on your work, connect with others, or just get a change of scenery, we ask that you be courteous and respectful of others around you. Please adhere to the following guidelines.
- Water cooler chat is more than welcome, but keep excess noise to a minimum.
- Be kind and compassionate to members, guests, and staff.
- Respect the boundaries of other members.
- Don’t feel well? Stay home, rest, and recover.
- Keep our common areas tidy—leave them how you found them.
- If something is wrong, report it to our staff.
Use of Space
BrightWorks is Where Bright Minds Get to Work! Our private offices, meeting rooms, coworking areas and event spaces are ideal for remote workers, startup companies, and solopreneurs who want the perks of working in an office without the commitment of a standard commercial lease. Types of individuals and organizations who will love BrightWorks include consultants, attorneys, graphic designers, software developers, marketers, account executives, writers, finance professionals, and many more. Types of commercial activities here at BrightWorks are monitored to ensure that the environment is welcoming and productive for all members. Specific restrictions are in our terms and conditions available upon request.
What to Wear
Come and work in whatever you feel comfortable wearing! Sweats, suits, and everything in between are welcome. We just ask that you wear shoes and clothing.
Phone and Video Calls
Please be cognizant of our shared workspace and the volume levels of your calls. We encourage our coworking members and guests to take phone calls in a phone booth when possible. Please reserve a phone booth or meeting room in advance when you have a scheduled call.
Phone Booth
If possible, please reserve phone booths ahead of time and leave the space when your call is over so that others have access. If you have any personal belongings or rubbish with you, please remove them upon your exit.
Conference Rooms
When your meeting is over, please remove any personal belongings and wipe down all surfaces that might need it—whether it be a table, chair, or whiteboard. If you have moved any of the items in the room, please return them to their homes.
Reservations
Conference rooms and phone booths are available to reserve through the BrightWorks website. If you no longer need a meeting room that you’ve reserved, please cancel your reservation as soon as possible so that other members can utilize the space.
The Julia Child Kitchen
All members are welcome to enjoy and utilize the kitchen. If you bring in food or beverages, please label them with your name or keep them in a bag so other members don’t accidentally take your items. This includes flavored creamers, milks, salad dressings, canned drinks, and snacks.
If you would like to bring food or beverages to share with fellow members, please do. We ask that you label any allergens such as nuts or dairy on community snacks.
Members can also enjoy unlimited coffee and tea provided by BrightWorks. If the coffee runs out or you need any assistance with the appliances, let one of our staff members know.
The refrigerator will be cleaned out on the second and last Friday of every month after office hours. All personal food and beverages will be discarded during this process to keep our space clean.
As a community, we rely on each other. Thank you for taking care of our shared space!
Guests And Visitors
Private Office members are welcome to bring guests to BrightWorks! Please meet your guest(s) at the welcome desk or walk them into the building with you. To keep all members and belongings safe, all non-members are required to have a member accompanying them.
Guests or associates of members who wish to work in common areas and enjoy the amenities at BrightWorks are invited to purchase a Coworking Day Pass or a virtual membership.
Furry Friends
ADA-certified service animals are welcome at BrightWorks, but we ask that other furry friends stay home.
If you do have a permitted service dog, we ask that they keep their volume at a reasonable level, stay with you or in your private office at all times, leave the building to relieve themselves, refrain from using the courtyard, and behave courteously to other members and any other service animals at BrightWorks.
